Global Airbnb Capitals
Since launching just over ten years ago, the Airbnb platform has exploded in popularity, with over 4 million properties in every corner of the globe.
But where has adopted the platform the quickest, and where can claim to be the Airbnb capital of the world?
To coincide with the launch of our new range of 4x4 Photo Prints & wedding album printing service we looked at some of the world’s biggest cities to find out how many active Airbnb listings there were in each (as of June 2019).
Methodology
Active listings were taken from AirDNA, as of June 6th 2019. (Note that AirDNA also shows the number of active listings on the HomeAway platform, so these were removed.)
We looked at the 100 most visited cities in the world, according to Euromonitor and Mastercard, as well as any other capital cities that were not covered by either of these two lists.
